Exporting to a Remote Server

To export a recording to a remote server drag the file onto the Server button in the library or select the recording and click on the Server button.

To export to a remote server:

  1. Select the recording to be exported.
  2. Click on the Server button, or drag and drop the recording onto the Server button.

    Dragging the recording onto the Server button will open the Server Shortcuts popup menu.

  3. Enter the Server name/address.
  4. Choose the Protocol for the transfer, or choose Best Available and Dragster will try each protocol in turn until it connects.
  5. Enter your User name and Password.
  6. Click on Connect.
  7. Navigate to the destination directory.

  9. Click on Save and a copy of the file will be transfered to the chosen directory on the remote server.

Advanced Options

With any protocol selected click on the Advanced...button to bring up the Advanced options for remote transfer.

Share name is the name of the machine you are connecting to.

Port sets the port to be used for the transfer.

Use Key-based Authentication - with this option checked instead of a username and password, encrypted keys are used to establish a trusted relationship between your machine and the remote server.

Passphrase - use this field to enter your key passphrase if you have one set.

The connections for this export can be saved as a Shortcut. Just click on the Add as Shortcut... button in the lower left. Name the Shortcut and it will appear in the Server Shortcuts popup menu the next time a recording is dragged onto the Server button.

Note: To open the Server Shortcuts popup menu, the recording must be dragged onto the Server button.
